Charming destination for bedtime.

Just enough time for a quick look at a beautiful twin bed that recently came in. Scrolled, lathed, mahogany-finish wood. Low 4-poster.

Autumn can be nostalgic

Here's a photo taken this evening, followed by a nostalgic view in The Living Room from May 2010. Two moments when there was time to putter, put things right, and see things sort of snap into good-feeling arrangements.

Love to share the magic with you, but you'd better come before the clutter gets the upper hand again.

Price drops, "smalls", Kimono, and Tremoloa

The big news is that price drop time has rolled in. Just in time for the weekend. So, if you've been eying something for a while, make your move :^)

The small news is that we are truly swimming in smalls! These are the fun, intriguing, little items that fill in around the edges of the consigned furniture. I seem to have accepted more than I had room for, but they give me a breather from moving couches and china cabinets around. Come for tea and look through the latest small treasures:
100-year-old leather postcards, wooden stationery boxes, Danish art plates,
dishes to use on Canada Day, ornate candle holders...
Silver-plated ice bucket and scoop,
beaded handbag by Christiana, little vanity chair...

Full-length, Hong Kong kimono in shimmering purple/cobalt brocade.
Machine-washable silk and rayon blend. Robe is 48" around, backlength 56". $48.

I'd never heard of a Tremoloa and thought it was an autoharp at first glance.
Related to a zither! This one is from the 1950's.
Includes case, instructional booklets, and a display stand. $60.

Of course, this is just a small peek at what has come in, but I hope it is enough to whet your interest. See you soon!
