30" long and 24" tall. Lively. Not a toy. Wooden. Carved. Painted. Decorated with mirror tiles forming saddle and ornament. Not too old, as the plastic appears to be a resin-based material glued on and then decorated with mirror tiles. Perhaps 50 years old?
What can you tell me about this little mystery horse? UPDATE: Juan and Lisa of Guemos Tacos were shopping in The Living Room today, and were able to identify our little wooden beauty as a Spanish horse of Andalusia. I was ignorant of this breed, and glad to learn of them.
Here is a quote about Andalusians from a webpage tracing the lineage of the beautiful, dancing Lippizan stallions:
Elegant and showy, with noble head and beautifully curved neck, the Andalusian became the show horse of its time. With its loose gait, pliant strong limbs and dancing movements, the Andalusian possessed a fiery temperament coupled with a docile attitude and it was obedient and highly trainable.
I do believe this little mare is dancing...
