From a consignor with fond memories of an aunt who vacuumed her 1960s furniture every week and enjoyed her nephews and nieces when they visited and sat in her formal living room :^) ...


A plush, butter-ivory armchair from Doce's, probably in the 1960s. Very comfortable. Tailored and buttoned, stylish curves and unusual, rolled, padded wingback.

I like the unusual, Art Deco style of these vintage wingback chairs.

Speaking of tea, a charming collection of bone china teacups was brought in this week:

The story here is, these were donated to a homeless shelter which can't use them,
but can use the funds raised by their sale.

"The Duchess", a wingback needing a little help: upholstery paint, anyone? (UPDATE: SOLD)

I don't intend to stock many items needing repair or restoration, but this swank old wingback just needs a little help to be a treasure once again:

I'm calling it "The Duchess" because the swank shape of the wings looks like a royal hat (from Disney's Cinderella?).
Someone suggested painting the entire chair, as you would a canvas!

Here's a quick peek at why we should subtitle our business "Ado Annie's Consignment", although unlike Ado Annie, we believe we are only saying yes to quality offers. It's just that there's a lot of quality furniture out there to be consigned, and sometimes, we "cain't say no":
