Saturday, November 20: Christmas Craft Bazaar at Cedar Park Northshore!

The Living Room plans to be part of the fun at Cedar Park Northshore's annual Christmas Craft Bazaar this Saturday, November 20, 2010, in Kenmore, so look for our booth. We'll be there 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.! (Our store will also be open, 10-6, if you are up to double-dipping.)

Click this link to map the church address:
Cedar Park Northshore
18737 68th Ave NE
Kenmore, WA 98028

Jenni, of Hidden Treasures fame, has put together a great variety of crafters, artists, and vendors so you can do your Christmas shopping in one fun place. She's thought of everything: "The youth are serving lunch from 11am to 1:30pm and this will consist of bar-b-q pulled pork sandwiches, chips and cookie for $4.00 and homemade, extremely delicious to die for chili with all the trimmings (tortilla chips, cheddar cheese, and sour cream) for $3.00 a bowl."

Sounds like the place to be this Saturday, no matter what weather you have to slog through to get there!

Booksigning was fun, prompted us to clean up!

Lydia Harris booksigning

You know how inviting company motivates a little house cleaning? Lydia Harris' booksigning did that for us. Come quick before it wears off!

For those of you who missed Lydia's booksigning for her new book, "Preparing My Heart for Grandparenting", she will be at Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park tonight, Saturday, October 16. 6 pm, I think.

So, no sooner did we clear up the cookie crumbs after Lydia's tea party, another consignment came in. As if the empty table were calling them through the ether...

12 picture frames

...these 12 ceramic frames came in and took over the table. One for each month of the year. Aren't they charming? I could see a creative teacher making use of these in her classroom, but my imagination can't cover all possibilities. Where might you use these cute frames?

By the way, this is the last day of our "Make Room to Swing (with) the Cat" Sale. Hope to see you on this sunny Saturday.

Blessings...

Book signing by Lydia Harris on Oct 15! "Preparing My Heart for Grandparenting"

Local author Lydia Harris will be at The Living Room on Friday morning, 10-noon, October 15, 2010, with her new book "Preparing My Heart for Grandparenting".

Lydia is known affectionately as "Grandma Tea" because one of her favorite ways of enjoying life is to share a cup of tea with her friends, including, of course, her grandchildren.

Lydia will be signing her new book and sharing a pot of tea with everyone who is able to come by next Friday morning. Hope to see you there!

You can also look for Lydia's syndicated column "A Cup of Tea with Lydia".

Theme sale through 8/28/2010:10% off all chairs!

All chairs 10% off through Saturday, August 28?
Yes!
The cool retro chairs? Yes!

Even the 1800's Sherlock Holmes lounge chair! A chair sale is a chair sale...

All them plush or striped, roundish, barrelish chairs:

These are obviously chairs:

Don't forget The 3 Bears' Rocking Chairs: (UPDATE: Mama Bear rocking chair is sold.)

And the Regal Chair in Need of Repair:

And the 75-100 year old "St. Brendan's" oaken armchairs:

Not sure how to handle 10% off chairs that are part of a "table + 8 chairs" set. I think the chairs have a super-majority, so they can swing the vote:

But how about a tie, as in this chair and desk set?

Here's a cute little chair with storage. If you flip back and forth between these picture really fast, it could be a cartoon talking chair:

You could do the same with this Pier One trunk, but it isn't a chair (this, by the way, has a very cool safety feature: the lid can't slam shut on little fingers because the hinge stays where you put it):

Don't ask about this chair; I can't figure out how to price an antique chair built low to sit by the fire:

Stools qualify as chairs:
Pottery Barn Tibetan stool, 24"

But, a sofa isn't a chair:

Neither is a folk art bench:

Some of our chairs (Chairs of Potential!) are priced so low, we'll ALMOST be giving you money back with our 10% off sale:
